2015 KTM RC390 wont start!

well....been looking into this little issue now for last couple months...(at least I have the ZX6R now!)....and have been going down the list of what it could be and am now at a point where I am at a loss!...it has spark...it has fuel....timing is spot on....it has good compression...all the fuses are good...battery voltage is good....but she still wont start!...cranks over good...fuel pump delivers the fuel...ideas?....thinking to sell it off as I just dont have the ability to work on things like this with my spine issue...but would be nice to hear it run again!...when it was running it ran really good(has less than 3k miles on it now!).....any help/ideas?

  Depends on my mood.
Give it to me. I'll get her running and bring it back to you to listen to!

Sorry, I'm no help.

had you messed with the timing at all? also when was the spark plug last replaced ? also have you tried jump starting it off a car battery (WITH CAR OFF!) ? ive had a battery show good voltage, turn the motor just fine and fired up a couple times but then wouldn't and would reset my dash. replaced battery after jumping it and having it start fine and runs like a champ now...

it could also be a clogged injector , a broken vacuum line , intake leak, or a dying fuel pump (not supplying sufficient PSI) tho i would think it would have fired on start spray even with a fueling issue

This sounds like one of two things:
- Timing (I know you said it's spot on).
- Air Intake/Consumption/Mixing.

Take apart the throttle body and clean it out.

throttle body looks like new!...only has 2900 miles on bike!....did take it apart and spray it out with carb cleaner though...but wasnt dirty!....spark plug looks like new as well....did the valve adjust about 400 miles back, and took pics to make sure timing of cams was right, and then re-set them exactly like they where before...and they are still where they should be!...cam marks all line up like they should!....went and double checked for spark and has really good spark!...cranks over strong, as its a new battery!...starting to think it may be a partially clogged injector...as the fuel smell isnt consistant with the cranking...and it does pop every now and then, like it has fuel, then doesnt....will check on it more tomorrow!...

Could be a clogged fuel filter. Some fuel filters are integral to the in-tank fuel pump, (as in the ZX-14). If all else fails, remove the tank, turn it upside down, remove the fuel pump, remove the filter screen from the fuel pump, replace or clean the filter screen and then reassemble everything.

My idea is that you go with your gut feeling and follow your own advice. Whether or not you make it run is actually beside the point. Less hassles/less clutter in life are the keys to happiness. A few bucks here or there (the difference between selling it running or not) won't count for much in the long run.

The most professional/well run motorcycle store in the white hot economic epicenter known as Seattle recently decided that having Royal Enfield was a better option than representing KTM to the public.

What does that tell you ?

Hilario! Actually. I trail ride an '07 250SX converted motocrosser. Fab bike.

The new pumpkins are not anything like the stuff from just a decade ago. The op's fine machine is made in India by Bajaj.

A surefire way to empty a room full of savvy/wise modern bike technicians is to tell them you have a katoom 390 coming in for warranty work. They scatter like flies lol.
