Vapor Blasting @ MotoShed
MotoShed has been in operation in Queen Anne for a few months now. For those that don't know, we offer a DIY work area with lifts and tools, with access to a mechanic for jobs you don't want to tackle. We also offer bike storage for $65/month with unlimited in/out during biz hours.
I'm excited to say that in addition to our sand blaster (running garnet right now) we just picked up a Vapor Blasting, or Vapor Honing, machine and are running a glass bead slurry. While we dial everything in we are offering a $50/hr shop rate where we do the blasting. Jet City Moto and I did some quick passes on stuff laying around today and wound up blasting a bunch of parts...a bank of carbs, bowls, fork legs, and head. If you'd like to bring work by or just have a look, swing by and check it out. Vapor Honing was developed during WW2 and is a really cool process...but the interwebz can fill you in on all the science details.

There needs to be one of these here in Olympia! think the book "christine" by stephen king described a shop like that except for cars. i always thought that was a great business idea. if i could, i would open a motoshed here.

Streetscenes Garage is opening up soon in Tacoma. I know it's not OLY, but it is further south. The owner, Kevin, is a cool guy and is really excited to kick things off. Look them up!
