  2013 Ducati Diavel Carbon Red
Totaled Ducati

I am on the hunt for a totaled Ducati. My pressure MAP sensors are acting up on my bike and rather pay a lot of money for a new pair and wait from them to ship from Italy I am hoping I can salvage a pair off of a wrecked bike. I am looking for a
2010-14 Ducati Multistrada 1200
2012-14 Ducati 1199
2014-15 Ducati 899
2012-15 Ducati Diavel

Any leads on the above bikes would be appreciated. I figure this is worth a shot!

Yes, that is the part. I might have found a pair on EBay. Waiting to hear from the seller on Tuesday to see if he has 2.

There's always that Diavel that parks in my Ape's parking spot on our back porch at work...

Haha. I remember you telling me about that. As good at that sounds I want to keep all Diavels on the road! I will find another way

I'm told this is a common failure. Some might question the wisdom of tracking down/installing a couple used examples when their failure is almost certainly imminent.

It's true that Ducati NA does not stock spare parts in the US any longer. However the delivery time from Europe is pretty quick. Barely any longer than when they had a US warehouse.

If you order from Ducati Italy and its late summer, the order will sit on somebodys desk for about amonth till vacation is over. The entire plant shuts down.

How goes the hunt? Fortunately none of my bikes have a MAP sensor so I watched a few You Tube videos and learned a bit more.

Questions:

Have you done adequate diagnostics to determine that its the sensor itself that's failed, (electrics or diaphragm) and not something else like a seal, chafed wiring or corroded connections?

Are these sensors Ducati specific or are they automotive sensors? If their automotive and you can cross reference them you should be able to purchase them for a lot less.

Any information on the Ducati forums?

Reading through the Ducati forums my bike is having the same symptoms of the sensors being bad. I have stripped down the bike and lifted the tank to get to the sensors. They appear to look fine on the outside. I cleaned them and checked the wires and reconnected them. Started the bike again and the same symptoms were still there.
I was able to find a couple used ones on eBay and they will be here this weekend. Hopefully I can swap them out and the problem will be fixed. I tried to find a non-Ducati part and was unsuccessful. I'm pretty sure they are Ducati specific. If switching them out doesn't work then I'll be taking the bike to the shop.

This is common in Europe regardless of industry. The company I work also shuts down our factory in Switzerland for about a month as well. It's a huge pain in the ass. We have to do spring "inventory build up" prior to the shutdown.

my "company" shuts down in the middle of the god damn winter and forces us to take time off in the cold and dark and use up our vacation time whether we want to or not.
