I just upped my life insurance. Wife says, "Ride fast, take risks".

Seems like a healthy relationship...

A couple of years ago my neighbor across the street told me that when his first kid was born his wife made him give up his motorcycle. Both his kids are away at college now. Clearly I have a responsibility now to drag him to a motorcycle dealership.

I've re- homed 3 bikes to older riders who wanted to get back into riding before they got to old...

Do your part to help these poor babies find loving homes!

There is a 'nearly new' scooter at my next door neighbors that has been sitting outside and has not moved in 3 years. I made the effort to buy it last year and while I was not 'shut down' I doubt they will sell it. It will just rot into the ground I am afraid.
Another neighbor approached me (we are the same age) about working on his boat outboard to get it running. His boat has been sitting un-moved and uncovered under trees for at least 10 years. Yeah, not going to happen. If I thought he would actually use it I might consider it, but seeing he offered to sue me once for something that I had nothing to do with, I was surprised he even asked. His wife was all for selling it to me but after getting a look inside of it I do not want it. He was dead set against selling it.
A lot of these are peoples 'dreams' that 'seemed like a good idea at the time' but didn't turn into the 'cool deal' they thought it would be, me thinks. Sad.

She may have tried to avoid the physical risk by making him ditch it, but if he really likes/needs to ride, the mental and emotional risk could be far greater.

I don't drink or smoke anymore, I'm not very sporty, and I do all my hunting at Safeway. A guy needs some sort of relief valve, maybe trade it for a WR or CRF and stay off the streets, I wouldn't consider that a compromise.

I don't understand people that get married and think that means they can tell the other person what to do and I definitely don't understand people that allow their spouse to tell them what to do.
My CBR is in the kitchen every winter. I have a garage but I prefer she be in the house where it's warm and my wife is cool with it. She did kind of frown upon the living room oil change but that's understandable.

Some people's children. Grown men letting their women control their impulses and wants. Whatever floats your boat, I guess. Not my idea of ideal bike storage, but the hicks of the world don't give it a second thought, obviously. So be it. I promise to turn on the oscillating heater in my garage for my 2 stallions tonight in lieu of that poor bike's treatment... RIP poor two wheeler
