Ride to the beach?

Thinking of heading out to Ocean Shores for some fish and chips for lunch, and then back.

Anyone wanna go?

Head out by 9 maybe?

I can never see your photos. Unless, that is, you are taking pictures of a "do not enter" sign.

it's probably the google image hosting. i noticed that they sometimes disappear. but then i thought - fuck the internet, let shit start disappearing, that's probably a good thing.

sunsets : now un-photographed.

just this - i went to hurricane ridge. the new road before the toll booth is awesome. they did a really good job on it.

the twisties on the way up were at first wet and slick, yeeks, but then above the cloud line the road was clear, clean, dry, and EMPTY.

I rode my own pace all the way up and back down, it was fucking beautiful.

at the top i stopped to see the view and have a snack and several birds chose to eat my lunch with me. i had a handful of gray and black birds that looked like jays on my hands, knees, shoulders, and head. they were stealing nuts from my hands, from my pack, almost from my mouth. beautiful little birds with pointy black beaks and strong talons. totally unafraid. it made my day, literally it was the best part of a really good day.

edit: canada jays.

oh, and i got like 48 mpg on the trip. i can't say enough about what a great bike the C14 is. just phenomenal. never been a better bike for a long-ish trip.

i need a small bike for hooning around, thinking of that 690Duke, but the Connie is just....wow.

Sounds like you had fun. Wish I could have went but my dog (and sadly enough my best friend ) needed to go to the vet because he broke out in hives.

Next week looks like some great weather, I'm down for a ride to the coast any day.

The bird looks like a "Gray jay". I have "Chestnut backed Chickadees at my house that are also fearless of humans.

I went to the beach, without the bike this weekend, but got a limit of clams. First time out for razor clams!

When I was surveying in Alaska, these birds would try to pick the plastic tape on the ground beneath the transit. Up there, they were called 'Camp Robbers'. Completely fearless.
