Cool New Year's Day Ride?

It's a beautiful day, and I'm stuck at work daydreaming about riding - so why not start a new thread? Do we have any interest in a New Year's Day ride?

Right now, the forecast is for 44 and a chance of rain. Yeah, yeah, I know the forecast isn't worth much that far out, but at least it's not supposed to be in the 20's!

This isn't the official New Year's Day ride thread. I'm just starting the conversation and hoping to prompt the usuals to post the ride. (hint, hint)

So...let's chat about riding - and feel free to post pics from prior NY rides!

I may be able to swing a NY day ride. Depends if I start tearing into the bike or not and the weather. Don't let the sun outside today fool you it's still cold and the wind is even worse!

Could be in for a ride. No fucking way I'm doing the HC loop tho. Been there, done that. Too long, too boring, yada yada yada.

Been a minute since I've ridden so I could use a release. This trailer life and having my shit spread out all over the county is killing my riding game...

Actually, I'll have some free time next week. If the weather looks good, I'll post a ride. It's been forever since I've been on two wheels - and even longer since I've been on a group ride.

Just the other day I was thinking about how Mike used to call this the non-riding peninsula and how I've totally slacked. I used to ride year-round in all sorts of weather. Now it's been a couple-few months since I've ridden. Does this mean I'm getting old - or just lazy?! (Okay, don't answer that. The answer is probably both, lol.)

Just finished all the winter projects on the DR. This would be a good shake down for it. Both Buell's are up and running.

The biggest killer for me is deicer. Last New Years run I went on ended up having to rebuild both calipers, replace the pads plus it took forever to clean the bike up and get all that crap off.

Yep, last year was pretty corrosive on the DRZ after the ride.

Its boring, no real decent roads, just a slog. But if you like to do group rides, then Ok. Me not so much.

As long as I'm not slipping and sliding on the way to the meet up place I'm pretty much always up for a ride.
