I've often said that "motorcycles are better than girlfriends.."

<I ride a 420 lb KLR, and I can ride the trail up and down without problems..>

I'd be up for a ride up Green mountain, but I won't be able to until about 8pm if you want to go that late. Night ride up there is pretty cool too. Done that a couple of times.
Let me know what you guys plan.

Sorry I couldn't make the Green Mountain night ride. I'll have to link up with yall next time. On Friday I rode out on the GM trail starting from the Wildcat Lake trailhead. Pretty fun, but I hate to admit I got jammed up on a steeper, rocky section and couldn't get the KLR pass it ( pic attached), forcing me to do a 10 point turn on a hill. Determined to get to the view point, I went back down the trail until I found a logging road...then thru the bushes to bypass a gate and up the main road to the top. Not getting over those rocks made feel pretty inexperienced on the KLR and wishing I still had my old 250, which would have been no problem. A few hard hits on the POS stock skid plate was the only the damage, so good day, all n all. Told the wifey better armor would be a great father's day gift...

Nice Pablo. Thanks for the pictures. I agree, a 250 would make the single track up Green Mt. a lot easier.
We'll have to hook up one of these days and poke around up there.

Great pics!

I've been trying to talk my wife into riding more -- she has an irrational fear of gravel/dirt, and won't ride her Yamaha Bolt down our gravel driveway to the road for fear of... I dunno? Wiping out at 3mph?

I'm thinking maybe she'd like it better if she had a dual sport with some offroad tires.

Mine too. I floated the 250 dual sport idea to her and she said she'd be too scared. Maybe I should just suprise her and buy one.....although that would prob go over like a fart in church

Sounds fun. I bet your DRZ400 does great on that type of trail. That was the bike I originally was going to buy. Somehow I settled on the klr. I thought it would do better on highway and didnt realize what a pig it would be on the trail. I do like it alot for dirt or gravel roads tho.
