Two Days in June - 4th & 5th

Ok, this is happening. Booked a room in Clatskanie for Saturday night June 4th.

Anyone wants to come along for part or for all of this, they are welcome to join.

Day One: Ride starts at the 76 gas station at 2550 Burwell St, Bremerton, WA. Meet at 8. Kickstands up at 8:30. Planning on lunch in Westport.

Map is approximate. The run up Mt St Helens is dependent on what sort of time we're making, and how everyone feels.

I'm figuring breaks/gas stops at least every 100 miles or so. If you have a bike with limited range, we can adjust.

great pick of roads in Oregon...I'll consider hooking up with you in Vernonia for day two adventures...I'd advise taking Miami-Foley to Hwy.53...it's a fan favorite around these parts...

Already been advised to include that. Looks like a fun section. :)

Planned stops:

Day one first gas stop is the Chevron in Montesano. Good place to jump on this, but not sure exactly what time we'll be there. Yes it's only 75 miles from the start, but....

Lunch at this little joint on Harbor Ave in Westport.

Chevron on N Wilson Ave in Westport

Four Corners General Store, 4858 Westside Hwy, Castle Rock

Day two... Shell station in Vernonia (picking up a rider, might as well fill up)

Hamlet Quick Stop - Hwy 53 at Hwy 26

Big O Saloon for lunch in Olney? Any better suggestions?

Chevron 622 Heath St, Raymond

If you have the time, there is a wonderful little piece of "Twisty Delight" we call Youngs River Rd. It's a twisty detour that cuts West off of HWY 202 in Olney (just South of the little country store), and joins back up with 202 in Astoria.

Sounds like perfect post-lunch material! Thanks

I swear the map program said Texaco. I'd have been circling through town...

In Regards to Lunch

Here are a few suggestions depending on what your in the mood for.

Fultano's Pizza: Located on HWY 202 just to the South of the Old Youngs Bay Bridge turn off. Very good pizza, and is very conveniently located for your route.

Bowpicker: Located a block over from the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Some of the best fish and chips. However, since they are basicly a food cart, their hours are weather and food supply dependent. They close when the weather is bad, and when they run out of fish (finite daily amount). Also, they provide no seating so be prepared for a picnic. Check their twitter feed for current hours.

Fort George Brewery: Located two blocks West of the Bowpicker. Good Beer and food.

Oh! Cool ride. I'll see if we might be able to catch up with you on the Oregon side somewhere!

Well, I've been hearing for years how awesome the road is from Clatskanie to Mist, so I'd suggest that as a start point. :)

I plan on catching up with them in Vernonia..most likely at the Shell station...I'm figuring they should get there around 10am...as of now I'm planning on riding as far north as Hwy.6 at Raymond before I head back for home...

;)
