Sunny & 53 Degrees ~ I'm So Gone

Say what, Sunny & 53 degrees?! Time to break out the bike and ride, it's been sooooooo long.

Damn, bike is mothballed, need to uncover, unplug and reconnect things up....

Double Damn, squeezing into leathers....so tight, can't bend or move, bugs still on my visor from last year?! Where's my gloves?!?! geezh

Triple Damn, forgot how to ride! Total leg cramp straight away....what's this leaning stuff? bike feels all wrong ~ still on track settings....

Still, best 2 hours thus far for 2017

Slowly coming out of this epic winter coma, otherwise doing fine. FlaminBeans is still claiming he's going to kick my ass this season, more power to him.

Killing time for the gravel to clear & MotoGP to start! tic...tic....tic...tic...

How are you and the V-Boys doing? Getting faster no doubt!

Buffalo ~ are you actually going to ride on the street or just be a track junkie?

Hope to see you at SMC.

FlaminBeans vs Jackal. Youth and aggression vs cunning and experience. Be careful he doesn't Marquez you on some corner, or go to CSS and learn how to ride.

A lot of the boys down here are still in hibernation. Last couple group rides people have lost radiators to the gravel on the roads. More guys are getting literbikes and having EDR do things to them. Some have intent of racing. Not me though, riding an underpowered overweight sport touring bike is good for now.

I'm going to Thunderhill March-25 with Keigwins, so I have that going for me. CSS at the Ridge July 14.

Good idea to reacquaint ones self to riding, after an epic winter, I think. I posted on another thread that the sweepers are slowly making their way through the areas closer to civilization. The Washington side is in good shape, 14 and 142, at least to Klickitat. Since no gravel was used, traction has been excellent.

BTW, I discovered a disturbing amount of bugs spattered on the SV, left over from last year. Had to wash the bike before riding. I guess the rain came and didn't stop, so I forgot about the dismal appearance of the bike. There were, however, no bugs on the helmet. That was a bonus.

Too bad it looks like rain for the next 5 days or so..... good weather will arrive, soon!

Was dying for a Sport-touring fix - basically it ends for me in late October, due to weather and mt. roads becoming impassable.

I braved 250+ miles of riding in hard rain each way Tuesday and Wednesday to get to where the dry good roads are in E. OR - well worth it to be back out there and having fun!

That almost looks like the Rattle Snake grade, outside of Enterprise. Destination every year to there.

I wish - that is a nice twisty section of 206, just outside of Condon. It still needed to be swept, so I had plenty of time to pull over and get a pic

Did Rattlesnake several times last year, looking forward to returning soon!
