You must ride in the higher RPMs?

If the issue is availability of Premium fuel, then it seams that your options are a bit limited. Once you leave Prineville, the closest premium along your route is actually in Condon. That unfortunately, is roughly 44 miles out of your way (22 miles North of Fossil on 19). As you've already stated the issue with total daily mileage, going to Condon is probably not going to be what you want to do.

The next best suggestion I could offer, would be to stop for fuel along the way and get only a gallon of regular (instead of topping off). It would let you boost your range by just enough to let you comfortably get to Maupin; hopefully without dropping the overall octane rating of the resulting fuel mix too much. If you are concerned about that, you could pack some "Octane Boost" or pick some up along the way. The gas station in Fossil typically has small bottles (for motorcycles) available for sale inside.

  a bike with a single R
Echoing FeralRdr's comments; There's non-ethanol fuel in Condon & Maupin, and regular fuel in Fossil & Spray ~ that's about it.

Our group usually fills in Fossil or Condon whenever we're in the area.

Gentle throttle and high gears, plus this is where are group lives. If things go south, shoot a pm.

That's pretty impressive. Your profile doesn't seem to say what you are riding though. What is that thing?

My old 900rr could get me 50mpg but it was rare and it was when I was oh so gentle.

That sounds great, but I have to wait until Andy gets the alternator bearing installed.

Thanks for the offer!

I picked up two of these bad boys in hopes we don't have to send for help. Thanks for the offer!

Ya that is pretty impressive! I average 45 mpg and had a best mpg of 54. My best tank was 190 miles so 200+ is incredible!

Can't wait to start the trip! It's going to be awesome!
