You might be better off just buying a rebuilt tranny. I doubt that a local shop could compete (price/quality).

TBT is in Spokane and they said $725 for a complete rebuild. I found some other rebuilt ones online at around $600 bucks but then add approx $250 in shipping ( new trans to me, then core back to them )
I am leaning towards TBT at this point, get it done local and correctly and currently at best price.

That seems like a good price to rebuild/warranty a transmission. I'd have it done locally and you'll know what you're getting. They'd upgrade to stronger parts as well.
