Anyone have suggestions ?

For a local transmission rebuild?

94 Ranger 5speed rwd( M5OD-R1 ) already removed from truck





As seen needs a complete rebuild.

I did indeed, no 2wd 4.0 5 speeds to be found so far.

I have a couple more to call tomorrow.


The good news is I only paid $400 bucks for truck

My buddy is missing his reverse in his 4.0 ranger and same thing. Can't find a jubk yard tranny anywhere

You might be better off just buying a rebuilt tranny. I doubt that a local shop could compete (price/quality).

TBT is in Spokane and they said $725 for a complete rebuild. I found some other rebuilt ones online at around $600 bucks but then add approx $250 in shipping ( new trans to me, then core back to them )


I am leaning towards TBT at this point, get it done local and correctly and currently at best price.

That seems like a good price to rebuild/warranty a transmission. I'd have it done locally and you'll know what you're getting. They'd upgrade to stronger parts as well.

I gave up and ordered a rebuilt one, $800 to my door and no core to return.
