Never too early to start thinking of Sturgis

Tired of looking at snow, so starting the plan, an August ride from Coeur d alene to Sturgis. Plan is to leave on the 2nd and the rest I still need to fill in.
Still have several cold winter days to develop the plan, but at least I have a starting line. How about you ?

Don't think you'll find a whole lot of people here that go to Sturgis. Though I could be wrong. Not a large Harley type crowd on pnwmoto.
Personally, I wouldn't mind a trip through SD again, just not interested in the rally itself.

just cause nobody has found gold in the stream, doesn't mean it's not there

I don't care if it's a Harley crowd here or not, it's about riding bikes. Bikes of every make and model attend sturgis. So who has that itch to head East in August, time to start scratching .

time to polish up the trailer?:ninja:
once trailering your bike there became acceptable the whole thing became one big cosplay scene...all of the "custom" bikes that except for some paint look pretty much like the other...:spin::spin::spin:

Maybe I should have said "biker" crowd. Though I know Sturgis sees all kinds of bikes, it's traditionally been a biker event. This site tends to be more sport oriented riders. Wasn't trying to be insulting in any way.

Sturgis? :giggle:
Not a chance...
It's sunshine in Baja on the brain around here!

Never been. Not really interested either though I could see how it could be fun. I have owned a few HD's and 'other' big V-twins. Don't care for the crowds much or riding in groups.
There are a number of things I have done in my life that were 'I can say that I did it. Probably will not happen again' but for whatever reason Sturgis was never on that list.

I have a couple of friends that attend almost annually. I'll pass on the word. Speaking just for me; I tend to avoid crowds. I'm one of those folks that will attend a toy run, hand-off my toy and line up in back of the group. When the group turns left to exit the parking lot, I, and some of my friends, turn right.

Have fun.

Pretty sure I'm going (riding) back for the flat track races in Rapid City on the 6th. I have family in the area, so I'll see them on the return trip. Sturgis or not, you can't beat the road options between here and SD. If it works, I could kill some bugs with ya for a day or two..

I thought about it for 7 seconds. I'm done.

A2B, sounds good, I plan on camping as I go. Always plenty of bikes on the road in August so the arm gets a workout. I don't care to ride in large groups either and I don't care for clubs, always been know as a rebel. I'll be going to the races. Will be an enjoyable ride. If it works out, I'm sure it would be enjoyable to met up with u.

I have been to Sturgis. Went there as part of a nice long ride on my Goldwing several years ago. But go there where there are many thousands of drunken Harley riders everywhere? I shall pass on this one. Same for Daytona.

Bike show at the spokane fairgrounds march 15-16

Looking forward to the show in a few weeks and was wondering how many of our locals were planing on attending.Seemed as though last years show was smaller than years past. Either way, always nice to see the new models and the custom builds. So hope to see u there and I trust mother nature will co-operate with sunny and warmer weather.

Rode thru there on the "off" season. Simply stunning scenery. I would recommend that ride to anyone and I would consider doing it again. I'm just not into large gatherings.

Rad Mar 11th 2019 12:49 PM

If I could get out of my driveway I would be riding today, just stay on the main roads. Suppose to be up to 37 and all I see is clear sky and sunshine. Tomorrow more snow and more computer time to plan the ride.
