2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R

For sale 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250 Track Bike

Hate to get rid of it but I need room in my garage as I have a new track bike for 2017 coming in. I will say that I have had more fun on this little bike than any other bike I've ridden on the track. It will teach you a thing or two about cornering and embarrass the bigger bikes on a regular basis. Bike has been down (it is a track bike) but frame/forks/rims are straight. Bodywork is a little scared but not bad, see pictures. I was using an XT GPS track timer for the dash which doesn't come with it. I am including a immaculate gauge cluster that can be remounted if necessary however I seem to have misplaced the stock mount for it :-\. The shifting is set up standard but can be ran with GP shifting as well. $2500

PM me or text me at 360-791-7376

hey, so i currently ride a 600 sport bike on the street daily and am really comfortable with it (weight/power). im wanting to get into track riding/racing and ive done one day with my street bike and had a blast but i need to get a track only bike so im not concerned the whole the day about damaging my baby! the reason im writing so much is that i want to know if a 250 would be good to learn on even tho i can already ride a 600 just fine,,, i would like an unbiased opinion if possible. i just dont want to buy a 250 and get bored after 2 track days... and also can a novice race a 250 in wmrra competitavely?

Well my opinion is biased because I'm selling it but here's my two cents:
250s are a blast to ride. They are inexpensive and cheap to fix(seriously cheap). You will learn a lot about corner speed. I will say that it helped cure me of some bad habits, it keeps you from being lazy for sure. You will love it in the corners but might be a little frustrated on the straights. Here's a lap around The Ridge last season. The bikes in front are 2 to 4 times the horsepower So I guess "Bored" is relative to what you want to get out of it.
If you were to race it, WMRRA doesn't do ninja cup anymore, Oregon does though. The lightweight class in Washington is dominated by the KTM 390s ($5-6,000 just for the bike).

That's a really solid deal for a 250, probably would of bought this over the one I bought.

The ninja cup is gone, but there is suppose to be a race or class specifically for the 250's. Or at least that is the rumor. Will have to email them wmrra people and ask.

I've only ridden liter bikes on the track. Took two trips down to Thunder hill this fall. The first trip a friend insisted everyone ride his 250. I refused out of disgust for the little bikes... I gave in and rode it eventually for 1 session and had a lot of fun. When I got back to Washington I bought one 2 weeks later.

I took it to T-hill a few weeks later and primarily rode it. Sucks being on a small slow bike, but its a great bike for learning to maintain corner speed and proper body mechanics which will help you on the bigger bikes. N as barry said its cheap. If you bin it your first track day or race you aren't out that much money.

Novices have set track records, its up to you to develop and learn skills needed to be competitive. Doesn't matter what the bike is. Ask questions, take classes.
