For everyone's sake please put the add in here with some pictures and not just the Craig's List add that will expire.

Also Blue Book retail value is about $5710 and the trade in at $3930. As arbitrary as they can be, a lot of folks will base their purchasing decisions on those figures.

Ok, let's see. Pictures, no problem. It was just easier to post the direct link as I was posting here from my phone. I will update with ads and pictures, no problem.

Price, hmm, you are a moderator, so what I am about to say shouldn't be news to you. First off, check Craigslist, any shop or anywhere else around here and see what the prices are. It is a well known fact that online valuations are not totally correct when it comes to Market Value. With that said, I totally understand as a buyer how much weight is placed on those valuations. Not sure where you got your numbers from, maybe KBB?? All of us in the motorcycle and powersports world know that KBB is not very accurate in reference to any powersports. NADA is the valuation used by most all dealers and buyers. It is tremendously more accurate. $3930 as a trade in value already shows your numbers are WAY off. I have already had an offer from a dealership to buy this bike at $5k.

NADA valuations: LOW RETAIL: $5540, AVERAGE RETAIL: $7290.

That is more inline with actual valuations, and market valuations, also, like I said, the numbers that a dealer will look at when wanting to buy your bike or take it in on trade. Those numbers are also without any aftermarket equipment, as mine has, and with an average mileage WAY higher than mine has.

Bottom line, if you can find the SAME bike as mine - year, condition, mileage, add-ons, in the price ranges that you speak of, better jump on it. Look at ads right now on Craigslist, nothing comparable is cheaper than mine, and is actually WAY more expensive, and/or, has a lot of miles or beat up.

I assume you know bikes as a moderator, so this is all old news to you :-)

Am I understanding this correctly? A legitimate motorcycle sales facility offered $5,000.00 US funds to outright purchase a 2010 Kawasaki ZX-6R with 9700 miles? Not a consignment or "we'll pay you when it sells" sorta deal. And not $5,000.00 credit towards some other machine in their inventory.

$5k cash on the barrel head today. Correct?

Correct. Cash. I was looking to sell 3 bikes to them. The deal wasn't what I wanted. We talked individual bikes and package price. No go for me. Already sold one of them for well over what they offered for it.

I was not trying to be a dick, even though you perceive it as such. It was just a thought...it's your bike you can give it away or sell it for a million, no skin off my back. Also being a moderator means nothing to anyone's knowledge of bikes. I've had enough bikes and have bought enough to know that if a dealership offered you $5,000 for a trade in, you should have jumped on it, if you are looking to buy a bike that they have.

I had an '09 ZX6R with about 4,500 miles that I sold for $4,500 a few years back. Not as clean as yours, but that was figured in the selling price.

Your add-ons will net you more cash sold separately, nearly anyone can tell you that unless you get that one buyer who is looking for those very things, they don't mean squat. I've stripped all of my bikes of go fast and other parts and sold them separately and sold the bike quicker as bone stock.

I'm not sure who all of us in the powersport and motorcycle industry are, but dealership will offer you a KBB value on trade in and probably list the NADA value at sales. Usually the bikes I was after were harder to find used and when talking trade in and this is exactly what I came against when talking to them.

Couple of weeks back, a black '09 ZX6R with a full Akra system, Woodcraft case covers, etc., about 6k miles on it, and some light scuffs went for $4500. Bikes that are a deal, will go fast, as that one did and was.

Like I was saying, how about some details here on your bike instead of us chasing a link that is going to expire?

I always wonder when I see the "limited time" or "today only" or "must sell this month", etc... what happens after the allotted time interval?

Is that the end of regulation? Do we go into overtime?

No worries, all is good. We all have our opinions. Yes there are awesome deals and yes they go fast. This is a great deal, may take longer but I'm ok with that.

Limited time type of reductions: means I have an awesome deal available and could use the cash, but if I miss my awesome deal then the price goes back to normal. I am looking at some business ventures and investments. I dont need the cash in general and don't need to sell, but if it gets me cash from a business venture/investment then sure. Besides, I can only ride so many bikes, a my wife keeps reminding me.

Cheers to that! Raising $$$capital$$$ for investing and generating $$$ is always a swell idea. If its the right deal you may as well pull out all the stops and find some dough any way you can. Heck you can always buy more bikes!

What sort of business are you getting into?

And hey tell wifey he who dies with the most toys wins!

I am always looking to make money from my money, and/or other people's money. I've played alot with stocks, gold market, hard money lending, anywhere I can put my money to work. Sometimes small money, sometimes bigger money.

Wife is there with me, just a bit more practical. We have many toys now, and I'm always trying to add more. She enjoys them too :-)

op can we still make a donation to your gofundme campaign? Looks like its still active. If so I can send some $$$ your way.

The contest to see who could make the largest donation (update #5) was an awesome idea! I may steal that one lol Is there some subtle irony going on with the pic of you and wifey in front of the Wells (Hells?) Fargo sign?

Hope you don't have to move <and> your business/investment plans all work out. Put that cash to work!

Maybe post this in a more popular area of the forum since its for a good cause. Bikers tend to flock together and help their own in my experience.
