1995 Kawasaki GPz 1100 Sport Touring

Sold!

After many great trips around the Northwest, it’s time to sell my trusty GPz1100 sport tourer. It runs and looks good for a bike with just over 75,000 miles showing on odometer. Comes with the factory saddlebags and has a very comfortable re-covered Corbin seat. Regular oil changes, Dunlop Sportmax tires, newish super-strong RK chain and sprockets, and battery. Ready to take you wherever the pavement takes you.

The GPz 1100 received lots of great reviews when it was introduced, but it didn’t sell in the numbers that Kawi hoped and was discontinued after two years of production. The motor is based on proven Kawasaki in-line fours and is very durable and reliable. In this application, the motor is tuned for strong mid-range, making it a sold platform for sport touring and general street riding.

Asking $1,350. Clean title in my name.

Comparable to BMWR11000RS (but with more power), Honda VFR (but with more power), Triumph Sprint, Kawasaki Concours (but lighter, sportier and just as comfortable).

I'm trying to free up some room in my garage, so I'm looking for cold hard cash on this one. Thanks for your interest, though.

Slow POS if you ask me. There's a guy on CL selling a '94 with nearly 100K miles for $2,100. People think BMWs are something special, but from what I've read, the older ones are slow, quirky and expensive to repair.

The big Kawi motors are super reliable and lots of people get them to 150K miles+ with just normal maintenance. You can get big miles out of a BMW, but it will not be with just normal maintenance. Get yourself a GPz. Crazy value here.

I can sure see the genesis of my old Concours in this bike! Very nicely kept, good looking bike. I am certain she has another 100k in her! GLWS

Thanks. The motor is a close cousin to what's in the first generation Concours, but in this case I think it's derived from the ZX-11 and tuned more for sport touring.

Still thinking about it. What kind of mileage does it get? My CBR1000F gets 45 MPG.

It's in the same ball park as that -- 40+ depending on how much stuff you're carrying and how fast you're going. It can comfortably go 225 miles or so between gas stops.

I'm seeing a fair amount of interest, so it's likely not going to be on the market much longer. There aren't a lot of decent bikes available at this price point.
