Yakima Canyon Road HWY 821

This is a good little section in between Ellensburg and Yakima.

It is a fun little stretch of road, but not without its pitfalls. If the wind is up you can get the absolute peewaddle beaten out of you in some of those breaks between the rocks.

I agree the corners are pretty flat also.....very scenic. Fortunately no wind, cops, or traffic this time around.

Except for that freight train you zipped past at the southern end.

Even if there is traffic it still beats taking I-82 over North and South Manastash ridges.

No tar snakes. Yakima Canyon Road is 100% repaved. I think in 2017. There is falling rock debris however.

... and, police have been known to be on that stretch. Not that they should be. There's nothing there...

Used to be 35 mph the whole length, so if the coos catch you going even 55, it’s a otetty big ticket.
Has the speed limit be brought up?

What the cop explained to us the second time we got pulled over is (especially in the summer) that the road is populated by old looky-loos and drunk tubers, so the constabulary tries to keep the speeds down for safety.

But 45mph sure is a slow speed limit for that road.
