How would you rate it as an around town stop-and-go traffic bike? For me that means easy clutch pull, not demanding a lot of revs to take off, decent seat-peg distance so your legs aren't folded too tight, and generally just light and throwable even at low speed.

I have an FZ-07 and am very happy with it around town (and even happier in the twisties). It is light, has good torque and the clutch effort is not very heavy. I think you will like it.

It's a good bike to run around on. This one is set up with bar risers, a little taller wind screen, and the exhaust & engine has been tuned by Nels for proper tuning. It was set up for comfort by a mature rider with long distance touring in mind...

Yeah this bike is everything your asking warpshatner, I can cruise down city driving all the way down to 1 mph and keep perfect balance or if I wanted to idle it'll not have no problem. Good smooth torque engine. It's the best bike I've ever own in the 10 yrs I've rode. I guarantee you wont be disappointed. It's really hard to get rid of it. I got dyno videos and papers of the tune also. If you want you can call me and I can tell you more about the bike?

Thanks, I'm eying something in that segment and the current crop of Yamaha 700s are looking really outstanding ... but if I'm being honest probably not going to pull the trigger soon. Thanks to you all for the responses. (I love my R1200ST but it's a completely intractable beast in town and I leave it in the garage unless I'm really going somewhere.)

If it is a low Rpm "TwItChYnEsS" you have been having? My experience over the years has been Syncing the TB's/Carb's will improve this just off idle situation.

If that is not your condition, please disregard this post

No, mostly it's the combination of *very* tall first gear -- the police version uses a much different final drive ratio for this reason -- dry clutch, and this generation of boxer's dislike of doing anything at low revs. The HH sintered pads I currently have on the front make it very grabby at low speed too, which doesn't help at all when someone surprises me in an intersection. (I've got in the habit of using the rear brake more in those situations). But now i'm hijacking his posting with something irrelevant.
