OYSTER RUN 2018 in Anacortes

If it is sunny, this can be a HUGE event!
There's always a lot of variety in the bikes that show up though it takes some looking to find the true gems. Everything from show bikes, nitrous powered sport bikes, cafe, scooters, to old vintage bikes - though a large number are the Milwaukee brand.

Maybe do a group rode down again this year if y'all are interested... We will be avoiding traffic on the way out of town.

OYSTER RUN

Sunday SEPT 23

Leaving Sehome Starbucks 10:15am

If you ride, you're welcome to ride with us! Everyone welcome...

I rode down with the group a couple of years ago. I was a fun ride and I have never seen so many bikes in one place before. I wish I was home this year for it, it is a fun day.

i went one year a long time ago on my harley. the traffic leaving town, going over the hill, was so bad i had to pull over and shut it off from heat. took HOURS to get out of there.

best to ride a bicycle or something.

I've been up there during the Oyster Run...it's quite something to say the least...if I rode a cruiser I think I would consider it a "must go to" event...I usually run up the peninsula side and catch a ferry in Port Townsend...
here's a couple of pictures from a couple of years back..

We won't do the Harley thing baking our butts sitting on the highway 20 parking lot... No need for a bicycle.

It was a Harley thing and I was working for a guy that runs it. There were more scooters than hooters...
though it was a good cause. I'm not much into that formation riding stuff.

PT/Coup - Annual Oyster Run Motorcycle Rally, Sept. 23
On Sunday, Sept. 23, ferry travelers can expect delays due to a large number of motorcycles traveling to and from the annual Oyster Run in Anacortes. Motorcyclists are strongly encouraged to make an advance reservation. Without reservations, motorcycles will be on standby and loaded on a first-come, first-served basis with other waiting vehicle traffic on the Port Townsend/Coupeville route. Please be advised, the route will be operating with one vessel instead of two while the M/V Salish is out of service for unscheduled repairs. Due to the reduced capacity, WSF also encourages those with reservations to travel on the sailing they reserved and not attempt to travel stand-by for other sailings. If the reservation space is full, alternate routes (Edmonds/Kingston, Mukilteo/Clinton) may be advised when possible.

That's great info for people riding ferries! Though, coming from Bellingham, there will be no need for one.
