No, it's a SUPER ADVENTURE for sure, although Chris could probably make it look like a Super Enduro

That and gravel roads / dirt roads.

If want to get retarded and break myself, I have a 350 EXC.

Fuck big bikes in the woods. Just my opinion.

That makes sense.

We have a triumph tiger, and do adventure riding/BDR/Camping as well as dirt scooters for dirt/singletrack. I have gotten the tiger into some awkward spots based on its clearance.. Its fun on fire roads and some medium doubletrack.

I rented a 950 adventure in new zealand for a couple weeks, I got into some pretty shitty stuff, and it handled it like a champ.. but it feels super narrow and had a lot more visibility so getting over shit was not that big of a deal. I should have never done it, but I rode a 950 super enduro and pretty much decided I am destine to have one.

I was just wondering if any of you had gotten the SuperAdventure out in some tighter stuff and were happy/sad with the performance?

And yeah.. chris birch is unreal, I'm not talking about bunnyhopping stumps.

All this ADV talk must be getting to me. My brother is planing to take his modded Tacoma from North Carolina out to Moab next summer, and I'm half thinking of buying a bike to join him there. I could easily do the trip there on my 650R, but it would be pretty dull once I arrived... or rather far more excitement than I'd like. One bike is not enough. Need one for myself, one for two-up trips, and another for adventuring.

Maybe it's just me but I'm not really down with taking $20K Adventure bikes out and beating the hell out of them on single track...call me silly. I'll grab the WR450F (plated) YZ250F or Gas Gas TXT300PRO. Plus I'm a short guy, so that makes the task of rough offroad even more sketchy. I would like to check out the Back Country Routes though. I I'm seriously considering a KTM 690 Enduro R also.

that GasGas is a Trials bike. Not riding ANYWHERE on that.

This is the kind of trip I'm thinking of. Nothing too crazy, and nothing that a lightly modded but still comfortably street-able Tacoma can't handle. A top-of-the-line Tiger XCA is $15,500 with way more gizmos than I want. The base-model Tiger XR is $11,500 and the important stuff like bash plates and heated grips won't add much. I've ridden the KLR650 and DRZ-400 on demos, and they would be more capable off-road, but I couldn't take a full day on-road with those.

Give an Africa Twin a test ride. I think you'll be surprised at how nimble it feels due to it's low center of gravity and it's slimness. It's also a pleasure to ride all day on the highway. I still wouldn't take it on single track tho.

If I were looking for an off-season bike to ride and not worry if it gets wet and dirty, which I sort of am....that would be it.

I got the 350 EXC-F because it was the smallest factory plated, yet really dirt capable machine I could get. If the 250 EXC-F that's out now had been out then, I'd have got that.

I'm too much of a dirt bike n00b for anything too big or heavy or powerful.

Plus i'm old and don't heal so fast anymore.

Perhaps Quinndog has 4 inch legs. He says himself he is a short guy!

It seems like it some times when I sit (or try to sit) on some of these bikes! Short, old and fat don't work real well!
Thinking about an 1190 Enduro R this spring though!!
