Neah Bay/Cresent lake ride Sun 5/5

Anyone interested in a ride around Crescent lake? Ferry to Port Townsend (keystone on Whidby island) through Port Angeles to 112, around Crescent lake to 113 and back to 101, take ferry back across to Keystone and back via Whidby Island.

If the weather holds out I'm interested. I would just meet you at the Port Townsend ferry since I'm already on this side of the water. Keep me updated for sure.

Consider this route enhancement:

Heading west on 101 out of Port Angeles, you'll soon see a concrete overpass with a sign, Black Diamond Road. Take the right immediately before the overpass to get up to Black Diamond Road, turn left over 101 and take Black Diamond Road, becomes Little River Road, to its end. Take a right on Olympic Hot Springs Road for a short distance to its end, and then turn left onto 101. When you get to the east end of Lake Crescent on 101, take a right onto East Beach Road, becomes Joyce-Piedmont Road, up to Joyce. Turn left (west) on 112.

Think you'll really like the Black Diamond and Little River Roads. The East Beach Road is a narrow road through the woods.

After returning along the south shore of Lake Crescent on 101, retrace the earlier roads back to Port Angeles. Take a right onto Olympic Hot Springs Road, left on Little River Road, becomes Black Diamond Road, then after the overpass, turn right down to 101, and left on 101 back into Port Angeles.

I would be interested but the 7th is my wedding anniversary. My wife might not be as excited about it as I am.

Weather for Port Angeles says the high is only 43 on Sunday. With PM rain/snow showers on Saturday. Hope everyone has heated gear. I might pass until it warms up.

And Marv- I'm going to write down that route and definitely try it out over summer!

If it was warm enough I'd be game. I'm a fair weather rider with the gear I currently have.

It might not be too bad. If you get cold I'll turn my heated gear on in sympathy! Maybe even my heated seat and grips!

What would be a good start time?

I could meet up with you for the ride over to the ferry Thumperpilot.

turn that into a map for us?

also: IN. I'd be waiting in PT. I went to Crescent the other day. The road is pot-holed, but the view is uber nice. Lots of logging trucks, so it aint no racetrack. just post which ferry you are gonna be on, for time.

Also, be sure to check this before you leave. Some of the ferries get cancelled at low tides.
