my licence doesn't say Chadams66...somehow I don't think they're going to do a deep dive into the internet to try and find out who this is over a speeding ticket...I'm not sure what they could do if they did find out either...most riders I know have no idea what my real name is as far as that goes...I'm pretty sure cops scouring the internet at random for motorcyclist violations is way over blown...if it comes up in court I'll let you know...

1. You're probably right about law enforcement trying to trace your internet activity for a moving violation.

2. Should you ever be involved in a serious crash, either as the perpetrator or the victim, you can bet that lawyers from the opposing counsel will find out anything on the internet that will benefit the person(s) that you injured or will diminish your award and perhaps assign some level of responsibility to you if it is you that was injured.

3. If there is legal action, the plaintiff's lawyer and/or law enforcement can link you to chadams66 posts. You give them plenty of clues; your Portland neighborhood, the kind of motorcycles you ride and "66" in your internet name has a number of possibilities.

The internet and forums like these are a lot of fun. We meet new friends. We find new places to ride. We learn about other bikes, etc, etc. But if you want to talk about hooning, take videos of same, or post about infractions, it could come back and bite you in the ass.

First thing I had my investigators do one a new case was scour social meda, the victims and the defendants, and their friends. If we found good stuff from the vic, we would screen shot that all, with dates times for later subpoenas, and we we found stuff on the defendant's social media, we'd haul him/her into the office and yell at them.

Have a bud that got into serious trouble. He paid a premium to have his vids purged from the net Including one on his Hyabusa showing over 100 while the front tire was in the air on a public street. Had to get them gone or it would have been ugly for him.
