There were some on the way to glacier but I haven't been up there to the top this summer...yet.

I did about a month ago. Turned around at Glacier because of the tar snakes. But then I heard that after Glacier it was much better. Coming back from Glacier they weren't as bad, or maybe because I made a more conscious effort to avoid them. I'm a less experienced rider so the snakes were really annoying to me. If you're more experienced, the wobbles from hitting them might not faze you as much, maybe. Good luck and have fun if you do go! |

there seemed to be a section through demming that you will notice but soon after they disappear.clear most of the way up. not to bad at all. very manageable. I didn't think it was much an issue.

I just tried to ride up to Artists Point today. They are chip sealing the road a few miles east of the Mosquito Lake Road intersection. I do not know for how far as I turned around when I got there.

And more gravel sections on and off from Kendall to Glacier. But after that it's mostly clear. But most of the bad tar snakes are gone! |

It's more or less freshly settled chip seal from Welcome Valley to just east of Glacier right now. I was up there in my car on Saturday and the only loose gravel left was on the yellow line but they haven't been through with the sweeper or to stripe the lanes yet. I'd be careful if you care about rock chips but if you just want a mellow cruise to the alpine scenery it shouldn't hold you back.

Yup. Fresh chip seal from a little east of Mosquito lake road until the narrow bridge at Glacier. Fresh oil on top the chip seal for much of it too.
