Big Tar Snakes!

I don't know how many ride the Smith Rd this time of year, but a month ago or so the county smeared the most tar they could on the cracks in the roadbed EAST of Everson-Goshen road to MT BAKER Highway. It seems to be the worst closer to the highway.
I have slipped more than once in my four-wheeled cage while slowing to make a driveway entrance on these snakes. They are slick BOTH with water and also during frost as there is no friction to be found for tires on the black tar...

Yeah, but it is soooo rad to hit em in a light corner lean and have the bike decide to change vector for a bit.

no biggie. just mark marquez them. lean to approx 60 degrees, stick elbow out and then lean some more. he saves this kind of slide all the time.

titanium elbow sliders will go a long way tho.

Being an inquisitive type, I spoke with the person in the know about the road. Smith is scheduled for an extra sanding run during snow (no, that's not helping in rain or freezing on the slick tar).
BUT, the good news is the County is scheduled to repave the Smith on the East end in 2019!
