Supercross!!

Anybody watch last week's first race? Some great racing, Tomac fast, but crashed, Roczen looking healthy and fast, Musquin on a roll! Tomorrow in Houston, TX, which is strangely a West coast race while Arlington, TX is East coast, although farther West than Houston?! Malcolm Stewart will be riding for JGR Suzuki to replace Justin Bogle, who was injured just before Anaheim 1. Starts at 5pm on FX1!

I can see Marvin taking it this year. Should be some good racing throughout the year though.

Marvin was out for the 450 main in Houston, he crashed and hurt his shoulder in his heat race. It looks like a race of attrition in the 450 class. Tomac, Wilson, Musquin out. Anderson won the Houston round, Roczen second. Bam Bam Barcia took another third. Unless those first two have some bad races, one of them could take the championship. Tomac is down 50 points, Musquin down 25. Musquin went from 1st in points to 10th after Houston - OUCH! It's hard to dig out of the holes those guys are in, unless other top riders have bad luck, too.

Back to Anaheim next week, we'll see what shakes out.

  Anything with two wheels.
Ok, back when I was really into supercross, it was alays Reed and Stewart far in the lead. Potto would sometimes get up there with them. Of course Stewart would ride for first or nothing, crashing out many times. It seemed Potto would win only if the other two were having a bad day. Carmicheal was a top guy too. Everybody else seemed to be second tier. Of course there is much more to the story including: health, age, training. I just dealt in their material stuff, not their training so in that part I am out of touch. Most peeps have their own opinion and a lot of the industry guys have varied opinions too.

My question is this; Who would actually win if all of these guys were to go head to head in an imaginary race where they were all at the top of their game, who would be the fastest?

I would say Tomac (if he stays on) or Roczen, but...?

I want to say Bubba Stewart. But that's the illogical sensationalist in me. When he was riding well, he was faaast!

I imagine we can compare track speeds at Anaheim and whatnot but tech has changed and tracks change too.

Reed was good, but he truly is a dick in real life so the illogical sensationalist In me sees him as the Hannah Barbara Dick dasterly.

When Reed was a lap down at the St. Louis SX last year, he ignored blue flags and held up Dungey's pursuit of Tomac for TWO FULL LAPS. I lost what little respect I had for him. A 16th place guy screwing with the outcome of the race leaders AND the championship! He should have been black flagged and penalized, but neither of those things happened.

BTW, Reed probably won't make the main tonight at A2, he's TOO SLOW**. Of course, the track sucks, too easy and less than 1 second separates 1 thru 14 place in qualifying! IF a guy doesn't get a good start, he's toast, as I see it.

Can't wait to see how it goes tonight...

**Edited to add: Reed made the show, won the LCQ. They had the LCQ after qualifying, and before the night show, due to the "Triple Crown" format BS. There are 3 races that have that format. Feld/AMA/FIM whoever, decided to spice up the series by doing the "Triple Crown" format. Dumb. Anyway, Reed is in, for what it's worth.

It's a long season. Time will tell. It's been fun to watch so far. I'm rooting for Anderson, hoping he can keep it together and be consistent.

Reed is for sure past his prime, lol! THe funniest thing I have ever seen happen to him was in Austin COTA. It was three to four years ago, they all kinda blend together after a while.

They were getting ready to start the race, there were a bunch people down near the starting line. Keanu Reeves(sp?) was there thumbing through his cell phone. Reed wanted to go up and shake his hand but had to stand there until Reeves looked up from his phone. FInally a dude let Chad approach. Reeves looks up at his phone and goes "Huh? Oh yeah hi." Then he goes back to thumbing his phone like nothing happened.

Poor Chad : )

If you're like me, you like to watch the races, but it's kind of irritating to see 1 hour of racing in 3 hours of TV, loaded with fluff and commercials.

If that's bugging you, you can watch JUST the races on Dailymotion.

Watch Dirt Moto Races posts the races.

MXForos also posts the races.

I like being able to watch the races on my schedule, without the junk. I hope this helps some of you guys out.

Here's the qualifying results from Glendale, AZ.

Tomac didn't qualify well; it will be interesting to see if he does better in the racing tonight. Musquin, who I think is still injured, didn't qualify well, either. Anderson, Roczen, Seeley and Brayton seem to be qualifying well every week.

Cooper Webb finally qualified better than Barcia; maybe he'll get his act together tonight. Then, there's Reed, toward the bottom of the qualifying order.... I guess if he's having fun, it's OK.

Bogle and Weimer are back this week.
