Still snow on FS 18
It was an awesome day for a ride yesterday, so we headed up to FS 18 out of Oso to see if the snow had melted. Unfortunately, even as warm as it was, we hit snow rather quickly and had to turn back. Here we are looking back at the snow we already came through.
Here is looking forward at the increasingly deeper and wider patch of melting snow covering the whole road for longer distances. One XR650R had full knobs, but getting the mine on 50/50 tires and the big 990 through would have been iffy at best and we were still headed up. Here is looking forward, the snow continues out of site around a bend and probably much farther. Or well, another day.
We headed back down, climbed up Lake Cavanaugh rd, and did a little of Walker Valley before having a big, tasty burger at the Big Rock Café on Hwy 9.

Was out riding forest service roads east of North Bend this past weekend and was wondering about the snow conditions on FS18, thanks for answering that unspoken question. After the snow melts I will definitely be heading up there for a ride, had a fun time riding last year with you and others.
